Acne problem is very common among teenagers but do we realise that acne could be a cause of depression. Acne problem starts when teen are between the age of 11 to 13 years and during this time the body goes through a lot of physical changes. Acne problems causes depression in teens and it doesn’t matter whether it is mild or severe. It completely changes the look of a person and a teen may suffer from low self confidence. This leads them into depression and some sever cases may lead a teen to commit suicide.
Teenagers get embarrassed and because of low self esteem cannot face people. They become more introvert and feel ashamed to share this problem with anyone. Teens tend to drown in their own sorrow.
If parents notice any such emotional changes in their teens, they should consider this seriously and help their teen come out of this problem. Consult a good dermatologist and help your teen gain self confidence that will improve his/her image.
