Teenage Pregnancy Symptoms
However the parent feels regarding a teenagers’ pregnancy, parents need to take a delicate approach towards their pregnant daughters as this is an important and emotional phase in their life. Pregnancy symptoms in a teenage girl for the first few months are quite similar to that of flu and exhaustion. Missed periods, fatigue, frequent urination, nausea or vomiting, abdominal distension, light-headedness or fainting, change in appetite and fullness or tenderness of breasts are few symptoms that occur in teenage pregnancy.
Symptoms that occur during pregnancy in teenagers are:
- Very Light or Missing Menstruation:
Teenage girls who are pregnant may complain that their periods have not started though it should have already started. They may also complain that their periods are very light suddenly as this is the very first sign of teenage pregnancy.
- Changes in the Body:
Pregnant teenage girls may suffer from tender or swollen breasts and may also gain weight. Often, they mistake these signs as a proof for approaching periods. They may experience changes in their body and their eating patterns.
Teenage girls may feel tired very easily even when they do not work. Exhaustion is another symptom of teenage pregnancy but not to be confused with some other viruses. This may even lead to poor performance in academics and they may not participate in any sports or any other physical activities.
They may often suffer from stomach flu and may also experience infection in the bladder and urinary tract. Bladder infection is another sign which may indicate that the teen is pregnant.
- Other Symptoms:
Food craving, headaches, backaches and persistent maladies which do not have any obvious cause are the symptoms which teenage girls experience during their pregnancy period. They also experience premenstrual syndrome and may get emotional for no apparent reason. Most of the time, they do not know the cause for these symptoms and may suffer from emotional instability.
